Service Description

This is an 8-session consultation group is for clinicians who are encountering eating and body shape/ size concerns in their clients during the course of OCD/anxiety treatment. It is live, online consultation group designed for clinicians who want to expand their knowledge base and clinical skills in identifying and treating eating concerns. Participants are expected to present cases for discussion, and to provide constructive feedback to each other. Prior knowledge of eating disorders is not required. Issues to be addressed include: language and behaviors to watch for if you suspect an eating disorder; how to address your concerns with clients; avoiding collusion with any eating pathology; navigating diet culture talk when it shows up in session; using ACT to target eating issues; and getting in touch with our own biases. Intended Audience: Beginning and intermediate clinicians Learning Objectives After this consultation series, participants will be able to -Name indicators of disordered eating that warrant further investigation -Identify the presence of diet culture and fat phobia talk in clients and ourselves -Use language that promotes exploration of eating concerns -Apply ACT interventions to address behaviors of concern Sarai Logue, LICSW, has provided individual and group psychotherapy for the past 17 years, focusing primarily on helping people diagnosed with eating disorders and related concerns. She is a licensed independent social worker in the state of Massachusetts and belongs to the National Association of Social Workers, the Academy of Eating Disorders, the Multi-Service Eating Disorder Association, and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
