Service Description

Our intermediate-advanced level ERP Consultation series supports clinicians interested in expanding their practice in the effective use of exposure and response prevention (ERP) for OCD and related disorders. Clinicians are expected to bring cases to discuss and offer constructive advice to other consultees. We will focus on -Case conceptualization skills -Application of ERP with varied, complex presentations of OCD -Treating ‘treatment refractory’ cases -Discussing ‘thinking outside the box’ of ERP as usua -Incorporating trauma interventions, meta-cognitive therapies, third wave approaches, and social psychology Presenter: Dr. Jason Krompinger, PhD, ABPP is a clinical psychologist with many years of expertise in treating OCD and related disorders. He is a gifted teacher and is the Director of Clinical Training at the New England Center for OCD and Anxiety, is a faculty member of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), and is a Lecturer (part-time) at Harvard Medical School. He previously was the Director of Psychological Services at the McLean Hospital OCD Institute, where he supervised students, post-docs, early-career psychologists, and seasoned clinicians. He has co-authored several articles and delivered talks, seminars, and community trainings on OCD. Cost: $600; There is an extra $15 fee for CEs. Educational Objectives: At the end of this course, participants will be able to 1. Conceptualize OCD in a nuanced fashion, taking into account both vulnerability and response mechanisms that give rise to symptom topography 2. Use ongoing functional analysis as a means of identifying compulsive behavior and creating targeted exposures 3.Identify intra and interpersonal processes that can interfere with motivation to engage in treatment Audience: Intermediate and advanced-level clinicians
