OCD And LGTBQ+ Identity

The intersection of OCD, anxiety, and LGBTQ+ identity often comes with unique challenges, ranging from misdiagnosis and lack of inclusive care, to feeling misunderstood by providers. As the IOCDF LGBTQIA+ Special Interest Group powerfully states in their open letter: “We are here, we are hurting, and we are hopeful.” We are committed to being part of that hope.

Our clinicians understand that affirming, trauma-informed care must be central, not optional. That includes examining our own biases, creating spaces where clients don’t need to educate their therapists, and supporting individuals in navigating internalized stigma, religious scrupulosity, gender-related obsessions, and more.
