Jamie was born and raised in Newton, MA, and both of her parents were social workers (retired now). She has worked with children in numerous roles, starting in high school when she worked at a preschool, followed by being a camp counselor for 4 years. Both of her internships in graduate school were also with children: at an elementary school in the Bronx and then at an agency called Lawyers for Children. Her first job out of graduate school was at McLean Hospital. She was there for 4.5 years working as an inpatient social worker on a psychiatric unit for adults with mood and psychotic disorders. She then worked at the Baker Center for Children and Families in their outpatient clinic, the Center for Effective Therapy, for 4 years, as a staff clinician specializing in delivering evidence-based outpatient therapy, and got certified in MATCH-ADTC (modular approach to treatment for children with anxiety, depression, trauma, and conduct problems) and PCIT (parent-child interaction therapy). At CET, she worked with children (and their parents) ages 2-22, completed weekly comprehensive diagnostic intake assessments and reports in addition to cognitive behavioral therapy for a range of diagnoses including ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, OCD, all anxiety disorders, and more. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents with OCD and anxiety and helping clients learn how to live the exposure lifestyle and to be the boss of their anxiety.
In her free time, she loves baking, traveling, anything outside in the sun, ice cream, and spending time with her family and friends.
