When Are Standard Linear Actuators Enough?

In your experience, for which types of projects are standard linear actuators more than sufficient without stepping up to servo systems or custom robotics solutions? Do you see clear limits in speed, precision, or duty cycle, or do they cover most real-world automation needs surprisingly well?

I've been working with standard linear actuators for a few projects and honestly they're one of the most practical motion solutions out there. The standard linear actuators hit a great balance between performance, build quality, and price. For DIY builds or automation tasks where you need reliable push/pull movement, they’re surprisingly easy to integrate — mounting holes, clear specs, and consistent travel make life easier. They’re not exotic robotics parts, but for most linear motion needs they feel solid and dependable. Definitely worth considering if your project calls for smooth, predictable actuation without over-engineering.
