Meet Emily!

Emily Baer, LICSW, graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2018 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. From there, she went directly to work at McLean Hospital where she learned the basics of OCD therapy. Here she provided intensive, specialized care for severe OCD, primarily using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She conducted daily ERP exercises, facilitated group therapy, and worked with families to support long-term recovery.

Emily received her Masters in Social Work from Boston College where she graduated in 2022. At her time at BC, along with her academic courses, Emily gained experience from her two field placements. From 2021-2022 Emily interned at North Suffolk Mental Health where she was placed in their Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS). Where she provided recovery services to adults diagnosed with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders referred by the Department of Mental Health. Services are provided in independent or provider-based housing and other community settings, including shelters.

Emily interned at Winthrop House (an extension from Brookline High School) from 2020-2021, located in Brookline, MA. There, she had a small caseload of students who she met with regularly to provide unique learning opportunities and support throughout their high school experience.

Emily specializes in teens & adults with OCD & Anxiety Related Disorders. In time away from work she enjoys being outdoors, cooking, traveling, practicing and teaching yoga.
