Meet Kristen!

Kristen Perrelli is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). She previously worked as a Family Therapist at McLean Hospital’s OCD Institute (OCDI), where she worked with clients diagnosed with OCD or related disorders and their families. Kristen led psychotherapy groups at the OCDI, focusing on family issues related to OCD and relapse prevention. In her private practice, Kristen provides individual, couples, and family therapy to help clients experiencing Anxiety, OCD and related disorders, and Mood Disorders by implementing evidence-based psychotherapy treatments. She has experience providing treatment to children, adolescents, and adults. Prior to working at McLean Hospital’s OCDI, Kristen worked as a Clinical Social Work Float Associate at McLean Hospital. In this role, she supported individuals struggling with various mental health conditions across inpatient, partial hospitalization programs, and residential levels of care. Kristen is a member of the International OCD Foundation, the National Association of Social Workers. She is also a Social Work representative on McLean Hospital’s Patient and Family Advisory Committee (PFAC).

Kristen specializes in treating OCD and related disorders, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and depression. She integrates various techniques and perspectives from evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Family Systems Theory, Solution-Focused, and Strength-Based approaches to create a treatment plan tailored to each individual, couple, or family. Kristen is passionate about providing education about OCD and related disorders, guidance on effectively supporting a loved one through treatment, and helping clients and families explore alternative coping strategies.

Kristen Perrelli, LICSW graduated from Providence College with a BA in Social Work and a BS in Health Policy and Management. She obtained her MSW from Boston College with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health. Kristen completed the Post Graduate Certificate Program in Cognitive and Behavioral Interventions from Boston University. She received an Advance Clinical Practice Certificate for Children, Youth, and Families from Boston College. Kristen completed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Body Dysmorphic Disorder training from MGH Psychiatry Academy. Kristen completed training through the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute. She is also trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).
