Service Description
ERP Foundations I is a 6-session live, online course on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. Participants will receive instruction on the evidence base for ERP, hierarchy-building, ERP coaching, diagnostic differentials, and troubleshooting. Through handouts, video, and practice assignments, participants will feel confident assessing and treating clients with OCD. Enrollment in ERP II (4-session consultation group) is strongly encouraged. Presenter: Dr. Lisa Coyne, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist and Founder of NECOA with 25+ years of expertise treating OCD and anxiety in children, teens, and families using ERP and ACT. She is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, founded the McLean OCDI Jr., serves on the IOCDF Advisory Board, and is IOCDF BTTI faculty. She has authored books on OCD, anxiety, and parenting. CEs: 6 CEs available for Psychologists. Attendees must attend all sessions and complete the evaluation to receive CE credit. Therapeutic Alliance: Building a Safe Harbor Session 4: Creating an Exposure Hierarchy & Shaping Choice Session 5: Supporting Inhibitory Learning Session 6: Troubleshooting, Generalization & Maintenance Educational Objectives: Upon completion, participants will be able to 1. Describe OCD's prevalence, age of onset, course, comorbidities, and presentations 2. Describe ERP, efficacy, and barriers to use 3. Describe evidence-based and functional assessment for OCD and related conditions 4. Build a strong therapeutic alliance using an ACT perspective 5. Construct an exposure hierarchy and describe when to progress up the hierarchy 6. Facilitate client willingness through coaching 7. Describe inhibitory learning principles and design exposures that support them 8. Apply best practices for client generalization and maintenance of gains
